The Best in Grass cannabis competition is coming back to Montana! Judges kits go on sale this Saturday, March 21st. Tamarack Cannabis is an exclusive retailer of judges kits. Here’s how to become a judge for Best in Grass Montana 2026:
Show up at either Tamarack Cannabis location on or after March 21st to purchase a Best in Grass judges kit in your desired category.
Judges kits become available March 21st at the time of store opening. They will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Please check your desired store location store hours.
In-store purchases only. Judges kits will not be pre-sold online and will not be available to order online.
Judges kits can not be purchased using any discounts or loyalty points (including senior and Veteran discounts). These kits are already deeply discounted. You may use cash or gift cards to purchase judges kits.
Judges kits are limited! They will sell quickly. We encourage you to line up outside store locations, before the time of opening, for the best chance at getting the kit you hope to purchase.
Judges kit purchases are limited to one kit per category, per person. You are allowed to purchase more than one kit, however, daily purchase limits still apply. If you would like to purchase multiple category kits, you will have to shop multiple days. Please note: the 'Edibles: Chocolates & Non-Gummies' category requires you to purchase one day, and pick up a second exit bag with entries on a second day due to daily THC sales limits set by the State of Montana. The second bag must be picked up from the same location in which you purchased the first bag.
Judges kit categories include: Indica Flower, Hybrid Flower, Sativa Flower, Non-Infused Pre-Rolls, Infused Pre-Rolls, Concentrates, Non-Solvent Concentrates, Vape Pens & Cartridges, Rosin Vape Pens & Cartridges, Edibles: Gummies & Fruit Chews, Edibles: Chocolates & Non-Gummies, and Syrups & Beverages.
Judges kit prices are set by Best in Grass and are not adjustable by anyone, including Tamarack Cannabis staff. Judges kit pricing varies by category: Indica and Sativa Flower Kits $65, Hybrid Flower Kit $75, Non-Infused Pre-Rolls $80, Infused Pre-Rolls $70, Concentrates $65, Non-Solvent Concentrates $150, Vape Pens & Carts $130, Rosin Vape Pens & Carts $80, Edibles: Gummies & Fruit Chews $70, Edibles: Chocolate & Non-Gummies $170 ($85 per kit, two kits), Syrups & Beverages $35.
Judging continues through May 17th. All judges are required to complete all Best in Grass judges forms for scoring to be valid. Upon completing all Best in Grass judges requirements and after June 11th, all judges who purchased a kit from Tamarack Cannabis will receive a "Judges Coupon" in the amount of 20% of the judges kit purchase cost, pre-tax. Best in Grass will verify which customers accurately completed all judging requirements to issue credit via loyalty points or an in-store discount.
